A haven of tranquility on the upper floor, the day spa offers an array of treatments designed to relax, restore and revive. Whitekirk Hill’s ethical stance is evidenced throughout, from the nail and skin care products used to the natural linens that drape the beds in the four treatment rooms. Lounge chairs and feature windows in the chill-out room make this the perfect space to enjoy our delicious afternoon tea.
This is the only spa in Scotland to use products from Barcelona brand Natura Bissé, which uses highly concentrated natural ingredients and innovative formulations, and Italy’s Comfort Zone, who promote a holistic and sustainable lifestyle. At the manicure/ pedicure bar the Bio-Sculpture gel nail system is 100% vegan, supports natural nail growth and exclusively carries a five-star safety rating.

The Happiest Place on the Hill
WELCOME TO
There is one place that little ones are desperate to visit, our vast, custom made indoor play facility, The Play Barn. Featuring a unique netted climbing area, 10m enclosed slide and blue block construction room.
There is lots for your children to explore, while you sit back and enjoy the fresh ground coffee and cakes offered in the dedicated café.
Choose from one of our 4 daily sessions, book online and then head straight in for 110 minutes of fabulous fun. Walk ins are welcome but we do recommend booking. Open from 9am daily. Pop the little ones in the car or on the bus that now stops at the bottom of our drive and head up the hill.

PLAY BARN
Learn & Adventure
The Play Barn is a place for imaginations to run wild.
Our bespoke 228sq m indoor play area was conceived by Tigerplay, independent British play specialists, creating an indoor area accommodating up to 100 children.
Our concept was to design an area where our young visitors would have the freedom to explore, learn through play and develop essential coordination skills, while onlookers enjoy a fresh coffee and cake from our cafe.
Small to 1.5m Tall
FUN FOR ALL
Our Play Barn is the perfect place for children of all ages and stages (up to a height of 1.5m).
We have a special area just for babies and toddlers up to the age of 2, which features interactive boards for little fingers to explore. Little ones are of course welcome to play throughout the Play Barn.
The blue building blocks are fun to pile high and knock down or create architectural masterpieces. Some wonderful meals have been created and served from our play kitchen.
For the more adventurous we have places to hide and explore, towers to climb up, and slides that bring you back down to earth.
A safe and fun place to develop physical skills, co-ordination, balance and agility.
Outside Play
On a Sunny Day
When the sun is shining the play park at Whitekirk Hill is the perfect place to be.
There is a sandpit with diggers, swings, a fun play house to explore, a hill to race to the top of and lots of space to run around. The play park is self contained so little ones cannot stray.
Cool drinks, ice cream and treats are all available from inside the Play Barn. You are very welcome to pop in before you settle down for a day at the park.
Best of all, this area is free of charge and has a stunning view of East Lothian.
CLASSES FOR MINIS
A PLACE TO LEARN
The Play Barn is a great place to not just express individuality but also take part in some fun organised learning too.
The week starts with Toddler Yoga on a Monday and some brilliant Messy Play on a Wednesday.
Relax with some Baby Massage on a Thursday followed straight after with us saying “bonjour” to French Lessons and coming very soon…Italian for “bambinos”.

Quiet Play
Enjoy Some
The Play Barn is our happy place. Filled with laughter, music, smiling faces and sticky fingers.
However for some children and their parents, visiting such a busy, noisy and hectic environment can be challenging.
To support inclusivity we have launched our “Quiet Play” session in the Play Barn every Tuesday from 3pm. The music will be off, the coffee machine silent, the hand dryers off and we limit the numbers.
Our aim is to provide a safe space where children can play without feeling anxious and stressed.
Spaces do need to be booked in advance.
Nerf Fun
Time for Some
The perfect way for your children to have lots of Nerf Fun with friends.
Every Friday from 3pm – 4pm we present our excited little guests with standard issue goggles and all the necessary equipment required to let them battle it out safely.
Sit back, relax and enjoy a cup of coffee safe in the knowledge that it’s our job to go around and collect the 100s of foam darts afterwards. Always the worst part of Nerf Fun at home.
The recommended age is 6+ and spaces do need to booked in advance.

Fancy the Play Barn ALL to yourselves? A birthday celebration, an end of school party, a Christmas party…any excuse to party!
When & how long does the magic last?
Our fabulous Play Barn can booked for exclusive hire from 5pm to 7pm daily and the best bit…it’s FREE to hire.During this time the Play Barn will be yours to fully enjoy the exciting structures to climb, jump off, slide down and swing upon.
Who, and how many can come to the party?
Parties are offered for a minimum of 20 children at £20 per child and then at a reduced rate of £15 per child over the minimum number.The package includes a delicious buffet of sandwiches, sausage rolls, chicken bites, carrot sticks, cucumber sticks, hummus dip, crisps and fairy cakes.
Adult food menu is also available.

The Play Barn is the perfect place to party. Choose your date and time and then we do the rest. The best bit is that we tidy up.
When & how long does the magic last?
Parties start at 10am or 2pm. Each party lasts for 2 hours – 90 minutes to play and 30 minutes of dining. We reserve your very own area that you can decorate with balloons and banners.Who and how many can come to the party?
Parties are offered for a minimum of 10 children and a maximum of 25 children at £15.95 per child. This includes a delicious buffet of sandwiches, vegetable batons and hummus dip, chicken bites and popcorn. Jugs of juice are served throughout the party. -
Parties at Play on the Hill couldn’t be more fun.
Sometimes a big party isn’t on the cards, especially when your little one is just a toddler. So if you just want to celebrate with a few friends then why not just book your tickets online? We don’t mind if you like to bring in a birthday cake, just save a slice for us.
